Damage
-physical harm caused to something so that it is broken, spoiled, or injured
-partial demolishing
-in damages= in compensation
e.g. The car was badly damaged in the accident. I have to get it repaired.

Destroy
- put an end to the existence of sth by damaging or attacking it
- complete demolishing
e.g. The village was destroyed by fire.


Ruin
- ruin would be enough of a demolishing to prevent an object from fulfilling its purpose without having been "Destroyed,"
- disintegration of sth
- reduce to a state of poverty
- sth becoming inusable, spoilt, or valueless
e.g. He has ruined my life.
e.g. The noisy vehicles have ruined village life.

Decay
- the gradual destruction of something as a result of a natural process of change
- rot or decompose through the action of bacteria and fungi
e.g. The fungus will decay soft timber.
e.g. The body has begun to decay.

Demolition
- the deliberate destruction of a building
e.g. The monument was saved from demolition

Harm
- injury, damage, or problems caused by something that you do
- actual or potential ill effects or danger
- have an adverse effect
- physically injure
e.g. It may harm your body.

Devastation
- damage or destruction affecting a large area or a lot of people
e.g. The floods caused widespread devastation.

Sabotage
- deliberate damage that is done to the property of an enemy or opponent [especially for political or military advantage]
e.g. Africa was sabotaged by rebel forces.

Havoc
- causing great confusion or disorder
e.g. The hurricane ripped through Florida causing havoc.
