One word substitution

1.Tobacconist- A person who sells tobacco/ तम्बाखू बेचने वाला 

2.Truant- A student who is absent without permission/ जो बिना परमिशन स्कूल से एब्सेंट रहे

3.Shortening= A shortening is an abbreviation in which the beginning or end of the word has been omitted./ शुरू का या अंत का या बीच का एक हिस्सा ही पूरे शब्द को रिप्रेजेंट करता है! e.g. Corp., Prof., Zoo, Flu etc.

4.Contraction= Contractions are abbreviations in which we omit letters from the middle of a word/ कहीं से कोई भी letters मिलकर एक नया term बनाते हैं!  e.g. dept., st., mfg., govt. etc.

5.Initialism= This abbreviation is formed from the first letters of the words. Initialisms are abbreviations that are pronounced one letter at a time./ शब्दों के पहले अक्षरों से बनता है! लेकिन शब्द की तरह उच्चारण नहीं होता है! e.g. BBC, MP, CEO, NSA, PTO etc.

6.Acronym= This abbreviation is formed from the first letters of the words. Acronyms are abbreviations that are pronounced as words./ शब्दों के पहले अक्षरों से बनता है और शब्द की तरह उच्चारण होता है! e.g. NATO, RADAR, NASA, PIN, PAN etc.

7.Phrenology- Study of skull with regard to human character/ ह्यूमन करैक्टर के सम्बंध में मानव स्कल का अध्ययन 

8.Platitude- commonplace remarks/ घिसी पीटी बात

9.Plutocracy- A government by the rich/ अमीरों द्वारा बनाई सरकार

14.Barbarism- State of being uncivilized/ असभ्य होना

16.Bacon- Salted or smoked meat from the back or sides of a pig/ एक तरह का, सुअर का मांस

18.Coerce- Compel to a course of action/ बाध्य करना 

19.Contrite- Showing deep sorrow for wrongdoing/ कुछ गलत करने का पछतावा

20.Delible- That which can be eraced or deleted/ जिसको मिटाया जा सके

21.Discrepancy- Difference between two things that should be the same/ तालमेल न होना 

22.Economical- One who is careful in the use of money/fuel etc./ किफायती 

23.Emissary- A person sent on a mission (usually official)/ व्यक्ति जिसको किसी मिशन पर भेजा जाए

24.Espionage- Practice of spying/ जासूसी करना 

25.Evanescent- Of a very short duration or period/ जो कुछ समय चले 

26.Flagstaff- A long pole on which a flag is flown/पोल जिसपर झंडा फहराया जाय

27.Frenzy- A state of extreme excitement/ अत्यधिक उत्साहित होना 

28.Frostbite- Injury to the nose, fingers or toes caused by extreme cold/ अत्यधिक सर्दी से नाक, उँगलियों या टो में इंजरी
